Want to learn about local birds? For the Love of Birds

Ever wonder about that bird tapping on your trees (or house), which birds are eating at your bird feeder or what the large blue colored birds with the top knot are called? Our NEW Sierra Foothills Family-Friendly Event, For the Love of Birds, will focus on local backyard bird species. We’ll help you to identify birds by their markings, songs and behaviors. There will be resources, apps and handouts to further your enjoyment of birds. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and share your stories about the birds you see and hear. You can help yourself and your family develop their knowledge and sense of wonder about wild creatures that live close by. Please join us for this event which is free to the public. No previous ‘birding’ experience is necessary. No registration is required. This event will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at 4:00-5:30 pm at the Madelyn Helling Library, Community Room in Nevada City. Hope to see you there.
