This scenic recreational area of rolling hillsides, streams, and ponds is one of the best places to see Lewis’s Woodpeckers. We will drive in with several stops on the way. Other possible species include Yellow-breasted Chats, Bullock’s Orioles, Willow Flycatchers, Cliff, Tree, Barn and Rough-winged Swallows, several sparrow species and more. We will also stop at a known Rufous-crowned Sparrow habitat to see if we can spot one. Meet at the Pleasant Valley Rd. Park’n Ride in Penn Valley at 8:30 am. Spenceville is about 15 minutes from there. Bring lunch, plenty of water, and dress for changeable weather.
