Join us for a peaceful, mostly flat 3 to 4-hour walk at this pristine location. This 50 acre meadow sits in the Tahoe National Forest at about 6,000 feet, so we will be looking for higher elevation birds such as White-headed Woodpecker, Fox Sparrows, Red-breasted Nuthatches, Mountain Bluebirds, etc., as well as the other usual suspects. We should also see several warblers, including Yellow, Nashville and MacGillivray’s. Be prepared for changeable weather, and bring snacks and water. Take Hwy 20 to Bowman Lake Rd. We will meet at the Discovery Trail on Bowman Lake Rd., about 1/4 mile from Hwy 20. Contact leader if weather is questionable.
