Meet just outside the treatment plant gate at 10984 Riata Way, Auburn (but actually in Nevada County just off Combie Road). The LOP WWTP is probably the closest thing to a wetland refuge in western Nevada County with its ponds and Magnolia Creek bordered by oak woodlands and pastures. Expect waterfowl, wading birds, winter songbirds, and often a surprise visitor. Easy, flat walking. Call if in doubt about the weather. Contact Rudy if weather is doubtful.
