Our FOR THE LOVE OF BIRDS series has been so very well received by you, our bird-loving friends, that we are now searching for a larger venue. So, if you haven’t attended yet, you just might want to join in the fun. About 70 people attended our last event, and it provided a very engaging, dynamic discussion for everyone. And the snacks were pretty good, as well.
On March 10, our meeting will move back to Auburn, to be held in the Cordova Room at the Placer County Health and Human Services complex at 11434 B Avenue, behind Home Depot. Our topics for the evening will include:
- a session on Backyard Bird I.D. highlighting our “spring” birds
- a session on “what are those birds doing” during the nesting period
- a presentation from Leslie Warren, the president of the Redbud Chapter of the California Native Plant Society, with lots of photos and information about the use of native plants to attract birds to your yard or property
- and finally, if you haven’t heard about Merlin, the wonderful phone app that helps you identify the birds you are hearing, you will certainly want to download this free app to your phone after this talk, and we’ll help you do just that.
This event is open to the public and free, so bring your next door neighbor or your cousin or anyone else who loves birds and wants to learn more about them. We have fun!!
