Meet at the tiny Kneebone Cemetery just before you get to the Bridgeport Visitor’s center on Pleasant Valley Rd. Free parking just north of there on the shoulder of Pleasant Valley Rd. We will follow Kentucky Creek to the Yuba River, past the Visitor Center and historic hay and wagon barn, then across the longest covered bridge in the country, the Bridgeport Covered Bridge. We should see common foothill species including Downy Woodpecker, Wrentit, Flickers, Hermit Thrush, Band-tailed Pigeon, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Sparrows and Towhees, Bewick’s Wren, American Dipper, Black Phoebe, Ruby-crowned Kinglet and other seasonal species. If weather is questionable contact leader.
