Bird Stroll Near Cool, Auburn State Recreation Area

Please bring binoculars and wear boots/shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy and long pants (tick country). Bring a snack and at least a liter of water. Meet at the Catecroft Gate entrance to ASRA, 1.5 miles south of the intersection of Highways 193 and 49 (‘downtown’ Cool), on the west side of Hwy 49. Pull into the long dirt pullout. This 2.5-mile loop tour along a dirt (sometimes muddy) trail will mosey by two large ponds, open fields with bramble patches and scrub pine – oak woodlands. Contact Sarah if weather is questionable.
